Is ‘Letting Go’ All That?
As we border on the Autumnal Equinox, it is a terrific time for reflection and self-inquiry. The leaves falling exposing bare branches is a gentle reminder to us of the fleeting nature of all things. This equinox is the duality between the light and dark that exists in each of us as well as the work of spiritual transformation. All things must die before they can be born and all of us who move toward the “light” must get real with the darkness inside…to begin the process of letting go of the way we see things to open to who we really are. The autumn equinox symbolizes a moment of self-inquiry in the process of enlightenment. Autumn is a time for letting go and releasing things that have been a burden.Continue reading “Is ‘Letting Go’ All That?”
Learning to Grieve
As practitioners, we’ve all heard the quote “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.” Whether rightly or wrongly attributed to the Buddha, we can all enumerate moments when a lesson and/or teacher presented at exactly the right time.

Every movement performed is with knowledge, precision, and intention.Continue reading “Perform Every Action Artfully”

Happy Birthday, Dad!
(Caveat: This post may evolve…nothing is ever final.)

We (there’s seven of us) all dutifully agreed that we would gather for my Dad’s 80th Birthday celebration on July 25th, 2013. Plans were made…travel arrangements to the destination, how the weekend would unfold organized, and we were all excited.
About a month before the festivities, my Mother gently brought to our attention that is was my Father’s 79th birthday…rather than the 80th we thought we were gathering for at the end of July. What? None of us realized that? Despite, we all agreed we would join together to celebrate Dad’s birthday in grand style…79th…or 80th.Continue reading “Happy Birthday, Dad!”
